What is PG/VG and how to order it

Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is a thick, sweet liquid. VG produces luscious clouds of vapor. VG also imparts a sweeter taste to your liquid.

Propylene Glycol (PG) is a much thinner tasteless liquid. PG produces more of a “throat hit” than VG does, which simulates the feel of smoking better.  PG also has a higher rate of sensitivity for some people, meaning that some people just can’t use PG in their vape.

Our recommendation is to start out with a 60/40 mix of PG and VG in your e-liquid. Then after you have tried it, you can make adjustments on your next order. If you aren’t getting enough throat hit to satisfy you, then next time try a 70/30 PG/VG mix or if you want more pillowy clouds of smoke, then maybe a 50/50 PG/VG mix is for you.

Safety and Health Issues for Propylene Glycol (PG) vs. Vegetable Glycerin (VG) E-Liquid

Both Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) are considered safe and acceptable substances to be ingested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In fact both substances are part of many types of food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. That said, there are rare cases of minor allergic reaction to Propylene Glycol (PG). Typical allergic reaction consists of skin irritation or rash, and/or minor throat inflammation. In most cases people who are allergic to Propylene Glycol (PG) already know that since it is used in many foods and day-to-day products. However, if you are experiencing any of the symptoms when vaping PG-based e-liquid, stop immediately, allow for sufficient time for your body to recover, and switch to VG-based e-liquid/e-juice.

PG/VG Liquid

A dry coil

When you haven't used your mod for a long period of time, like when you first use it for the day. If the e-liquid is a little lower than halfway in the tank, it may mean the coil is a little dry. To prevent a burning taste, tilt your mod from side to side a few times to ensure the coil has e-liquid on it.

Prime your coil

Make sure when you have replaced your coil for a new one, to prime it before use. Carefully put a little e-liquid on the cotton around the top of the coil and also in the holes at the side of the coil, don't put any down the centre as it may result in an overfill and you'll have some leakage. Put it back together. Fill your tank. It is advisable to only half fill the tank on first usage, top it up after a few vapes. When filling your tank do not fill quite to the top. We would recommend that you still wait for 5 minute to allow the e-liquid to soak through thoroughly before vaping.

Never get caught short

If your an ex-smoker, you will find that vaping will completely satisfy your needs and you'll never have to go back to smoking those life stealing, evil cigarettes again. So, make sure you never get caught short. You should always have spare batteries, enough e-liquid and extra coils at hand. A kit bag is also a very handy thing.

Nicotine Salts

Nicotine salt is the natural state that nicotine is, in tobacco leaves.

Nicotine salt is much more stable and not as volatile as the freebase form. Salt nics also take higher temperatures to vaporize and the ions don’t easily travel to your nicotine receptors in your body.

To put simply, it’s not the most effective way to deliver nicotine to your body compared to the de-protonated freebase form.

So, what’s all the craze about?

Pax labs, the innovator of this new vaping method found a way to use nicotine salt as a means to make 50 mg nicotine palatable while making it more bioavailable than what we have currently in the vaping market. Their goal was to mimic the sensation of smoking a cigarette as closely as possible and so far, it looks like it’s working.

How is this possible? Many of you are probably a little confuddled right now. The secret ingredient that makes all of the magic happen lies in the use of benzoic acid. Benzoic acid occurs naturally in many plants. Benzoic acid serves two key purposes in salt nicotine:

It helps nicotine salt vaporize at lower temperatures as well as lowering the pH levels in the salt nicotine which results in a smoother throat hit.

A chemical reaction occurs that makes the nicotine more absorbable like free base nicotine.

What this means is that you can vape comfortably at high nicotine levels such as 50 mg and it also makes it easier for your body to absorb nicotine contrary to the nature of nic salts. It seems from Pax’s patent that it only works on specific salt nicotine formulations with certain types of acids. As you can see in the graph provided by PAX labs, the nicotine salt e-liquid can help you deal with your cravings more effectively than regular vape juices.  

If you look at the purple and green line in the image, the amount of nicotine absorbed into the bloodstream is comparable to smoking a cigarette and can provide greater nicotine satisfaction than traditional e-liquids in the market.


We recommend that you do not use a sub ohm or high powered unit with your nic salts.

Sub-Ohm vaping involves using an e-cigarette containing a coil with a resistance less than 1.0 Ohm (1.2 ohm = over-ohm, 0.9 ohm = sub-ohm).

The ohms will be shown on the side of your coil.

It's a little more expensive to purchase (a few dollars) but then again, you won't be vaping as much to reach your level of satisfaction and no peppery taste will be experienced.

As mentioned above, it is strongly recommended to avoid using high powered devices to vape salt nicotine. Using sub-ohm setups to vape salt nicotine at 40mg will give you excessive amounts of nicotine and would be extremely unpleasant.

Salt Nicotine is designed to be used in lower wattage, high nicotine setups. Not only are these devices low profile and sleek, but some of the low wattage devices also are button-less and fire when you inhale (similar to a cigarette), this makes it a user-friendly alternative for new vapers.

You can consider using low-levels of nicotine salt in sub-ohm setups, however, research has shown that nicotine salts only provide benefits at high-concentrations, and you would be better off to use freebase nicotine in these instances.

O ring rubber gaskets

When you first receive your new kit, check all the parts thoroughly, especially note how the O ring rubber gaskets are fitted. If at any time your e-liquid leaks, check to see that all screw on parts are fairly tight, if it still leaks, you will probably need to change your O rings, make sure you put the new ones on exactly the way the old ones were. 

Battery care

Make sure you read and understand the manufacturer's recommendations for use and care of your device. If your vape did not come with instructions or you have further questions, contact the manufacturer.

Don't remove or disable safety features like fire button locks or vent holes that are designed to prevent battery overheating and explosions.

Only use batteries recommended for your device. Don't mix different brands of batteries, use batteries with different charge levels, or use old and new batteries together.

Charge your vape on a clean, flat surface, away from anything that can easily catch fire and someplace you can clearly see it, not a couch or pillow where it is more prone to overheat or get turned on accidentally.

Protect your vape from extreme temperatures by not leaving it in direct sunlight or in your car on a freezing cold night.

E-Liquids and E-Juice

Vaping works by heating up a liquid (called e-liquid or e-juice) to produce vapor which the user inhales. E-liquids are made from varying levels of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol and contain flavorings and sometimes nicotine, although some vapers use nicotine-free liquids. The exact composition of an e-liquid depends on the manufacturer, the flavorings used, and the nicotine level selected by the customer.

Refrigerate or not

There is a lot of comments on Google regarding this, some say yes and some say no. All this website writer will say is YES, we do it. The ingredients in e-liquid are food grade, what do you do with food? keep it in the fridge. We have never had any problem with taste or quality when our e-liquid has been refrigerated. Should I shake my e-liquid before use?

Yes, always shake the bottle before use and if your tank has sat for a particularly long time between uses move it around to mix the liquid inside before using. The nicotine settles in the liquid and will create hot spots, areas of a higher concentration of nicotine within the liquid. When you don’t shake it up first the vape can taste harsh or peppery due to excess nicotine in the hit from a hot spot.

Due to the weight of each component being different on a molecular level it begins to separate if it has been sitting for a long time.

Coils and Heating

The heating element that vaporizes the e-juice is called a coil, and consists of heat-conducting metal and a cotton wick that pulls the e-juice close to the metal for heating. The e-juice is held in a tank where it can come in contact with the coil as needed. The user can heat the coil and produce vapor by holding down a button or sometimes just by inhaling, as the device senses pressure caused by an inhalation. Coils burn out with time and usage and need to be replaced frequently.

Rebuildable (RBA) Coils

Some vapers prefer to make their own coils rather than using the pre-manufactured ones available from their favorite brand. This requires a supply of metal wire and organic cotton, plus a tank compatible with rebuilt coils. RBA platforms are available for many mods and tanks.

E-Cigarettes and Vape Pens

The exact configuration of the coil, tank, and other parts depends on the type of vaping equipment and the manufacturer. Simpler devices are usually the ones given the designation "e-cigarette", "vape pen" or "stick style" because of their size and shape. Some e-cigarettes use pre-filled e-liquid flavor pods while others use a small refillable tank.

Vape Mods and Tanks

The more complex vaping devices are called mods, box style, and include a main unit with settings and a fire button, onto which is attached a tank that the user manually fills. Tanks come apart to allow the user to replace the coil. The exact features of mods and tanks vary greatly with the manufacturer. Serious vapers most often use mods because they offer the highest degree of customization: choice of mod itself, choice of tank, and choice of coil type in addition to the typical choice in flavor.
